Today I'm linking up with ILYMTC for Project Pinterest.

I really need to go through all my pins and organize them one day.
But until then I'll keep dreaming and pinning until my heart desires...
or until I can't keep my eyes open anymore, which is usually the case.
or until I can't keep my eyes open anymore, which is usually the case.
I was just telling my mom the other day that I probably have multiple things pinned multiple times and have no idea.
Memory? What's that?
And my dad sarcastically chimed in about how completely crazy that would be.
Seriously living life on the wild side over here.
I might have things pinned not once, but twice.
Anyways, I pin lots of "tips and tricks" with hopes of one day applying them.
I've always been a huge fan of painted nails.
I feel like a boy when they aren't painted.
I've pretty much been painting my nails on a weekly basis, sometimes more than once, since as long as I can remember.
Until I had my sweet baby girl who now keeps me and busy and distracted.
So when I do have free time the last thing I want to do is spend 30 minutes on painting my nails, letting them dry, becoming impatient, smudging them, complete frustration, repaint, repeat, repeat.
In fact, the other day when I painted them it had been so long that it looked like a 5 year old had done them.
Talk about frustration.
I could not get the polish on just my nail.
I was so annoyed.
So I found this new trick on pinterest.
Leave it to Real Simple {one of my favorite mags} to share this trick!
I'm pretty bummed that I am just discovering this now, at nearly a quarter of a century old, but I'm choosing to dwell on my current state of amazement instead.
1. You paint your nails.
and try your best to stay "in the lines".
2. You spray them with Pam.
Then you take a picture and realize how wrinkly and chubby your fingers look.
{added bonus, Pam makes your ring really sparkly}
And voila.
You can wipe them and the nail polish is dry!!!
You can wipe them and the nail polish is dry!!!
How amazing is that?!?!
I waited like a minute to rinse them off, just in case.
I do touch them right after though and they're seriously d.r.y.
I'm still in shock.
So of course, I had to paint them the next day too because this trick is just way too cool.
At this point I could potentially wear a new color every day if I really wanted to {taking this new wild life to a whole new level, right?!}.
It takes like 5 minutes.
It takes like 5 minutes.
And I've also discovered a new way to showcase the trick without displaying the wrinkled stubs.
Phew.

I LOVE THIS TRICK SO MUCH!!! Now, if you could just magically make time for me to paint my nails during the day? That would be fantastic. Ha! Thanks so much for linking up!!
I have been living in the dark and I seriously read this post with my mouth open in amazement! I'm painting my nails today!
Oh wow! I never knew that. And another bonus is the buttery soft skin hahah
Have a great day!
I need to try this! Awesome!
You are sooo smart! I love this and am trying it TONIGHT!!!!!
OMG I need to try this!!!! SO cool!!
Oh my goodness! This is the coolest trick ever!
Can't wait to try it! I love your blog! :) Thanks for doing this!
Does it work with off brand cooking spray?
A knock off brand does work!! I had a cheap great value brand canola oil spray and it worked!!!
I will be trying this asap!
I am gonna try this but was wondering if I can apply 2 coats of polish first and then spray or do I spray each coat.
I just tried this, and didn't work either time. What am I doing wrong??? I used Pam original and OPI nail polish one coat.
I don't know about bone dry, but they are certainly dryer than if I hadn't done this at all, and my cuticles and now moisturized hands look great! Definitely a keeper.
Omg!! Awesome idea!!!! I never ever paint my nails but I will be now...thanks for the amazing idea!!!!!!
Crazy!!!!
It takes the same amount of time to air dry so this tip does not do any wonders.
This was an epic fail for me. I tried with Essie and OPI and waited the minute and wiped my nail and it (the polish) slid right off. It also made my nail polish look all distorted too. I used the same Pam you have pictured. I wonder why it didn't work at all for me.
Does it have to be PAM?? B/c I used a wal-mart brand (figured it was the same exact thing) and it didn't work. :(
I just tried this and it worked great!! I was amazed when my nails were COMPLETELY DRY. I kept touching them to make sure they were really dry!
Can't wait to give it a try!!!!! I have given up on painting my nails because I hate waiting for them to dry.
This did not work for me at all. When I wiped it off, all of the polish came off entirely....
I tried this last night and it didn't work at all! One thing I noticed though - the people who say it didn't work commented that they wiped it off (i did too) but in the post she said she waited a minute then RINSED the pam off....wondering if that's the difference! Gonna try again today.
would this work with just regular cooking oil in one of those pump and spray cans? or does pam have other chemicals and stuff that makes this happen?
yea- it didn't work for me at all... i did an awesome job of staying in the lines and painted 2 coats of dark purple. then i sprayed pam baking on them; and it ruined all of my careful painting! :(
I think it has the same properties as the spray nail dryers. It's not the oil that makes it work but the other aerosol chemicals in it. Make sure your nails are clean and dry before applying your polish. Only use one coat of polish (or let dry completely between coats), use a quality polish (like OPI) and, don't rub after you spray it on your painted nails. It usually dries the top layer but not totally.
I tried this today and it worked perfectly! I even used generic cooking spray. I waited a few seconds before washing my hands but they were dry instantly! Thank you so much!!
It didn't work for me either!! I used O.P.I. and did what the post said and it wiped everything off what am I doing wrong :(
They sell cans of nail drying spray at Wal Mart and Wal Greens, and it's pretty cheap. It works really well for me and dries my nail polish super fast. It may work better for some people who are having problems with the cooking spray.
This is amazing! But what really weirds me out is the fact our hands look almost identical...like seriously I am starring at my hand right now comparing wrinkles and crooked fingers...creepy!
@Lauren
Mine look almost identical as well! I'm not alone anymore <3
That is so awesome. Thanks for the great tip. I have to go paint my nails now.
I just did this and it worked!! (I was very skeptical) I used OPI a base coat, three coats of color, and a top coat. I walked around "fanning" my nails for about a minute then I logged on here to make sure I was about to do it right. Grabbed my Pam Olive Oil spray and sprayed like a mad woman. Then I waited a good two minutes because I was scared I was going to ruin my beautifully painted nails. Then I rinsed them in COLD water very delicately w soap, once I felt they really were dry I washed them like normal in cold water again. Worked perfect! Thank you!!
I've done this 5 times now and it totally works!! I used OPI polish twice and it worked just fine for me. I used a base coat and no top coat and then just sprayed with Pam, waited one minute and washed my hands with dawn and warm water, lightly toweled dry and it looks great! I did smudge one nail the first time because impressed down on it with the towel. I'm so glad I found this method though! Now I don't have to wait an hour to touch anything after I paint my nails!
Definitely does not work. Just tried it
Worked for me! 1 coat, let dry for 1 minute, top coat, again let dry for a minute or two. Sprayed with Pam, let it sit a minute or two, then washed gently with soap. They were dry to the touch and I gently dried off!
Thanks for sharing! Another alternative is Solar Oil. It works really well also and you can buy it from beauty stores....if you live in a cold climate you paint your toe nails, apply the solar oil over the top....wrap your nails in shrink wrap, put on your socks and boots and "Voila" by the time you have finished your errands in the snow or cold your nails are dry and no waiting time!! :
I tried this and it didn't work! :(
I used Org. Pam and O.P.I polish...
Just tried this with Revlon 'jelly' colour and it worked perfect! Tried a design with 3 tape strips over top then added a black coat (essence). Sprayed with Pam, still worked. Put another coat of black on and sprayed Pam, slight problem. The middle of the nail didn't dry. I only left the Pam on for 2 mins. Next time I'll try leaving it on longer. I got too excited at how great it worked with the first coat :)
I tried PAM on my freshly painted nails.....( held my breath) .....waited 2 minutes....wiped off PAM....fingernail polish was...DRY.....I'm sharing this secret with my all my freinds..and on Facebook.....
Awesome trick!!
Thank you so much!!
I have to say this as a Nail Tech : We PAINT our house and POLISH our nails!! Sorry I dont mean to offend anyone.
This totally works. I think the trick is to not over do the nail polish. I didn't put a base, did 2 coats of a red Essie color and applied the Pam. I waited two minutes and then rinsed carefully with soap.
Pinterest is a fantastic way to begin increasing your brand image and product awareness.I used your technique and it seems awesome. Thanks for your lovely tips.Keep posting so i can gain more tips about this.
So cool!!!!!!
Can someone tell me if you can wipe it off immediately or if you have to wait a few minutes? I NEED TO KNOW!!!!! :)
Never mind. :)
I just tried this and when I wiped my nails, the polish came off. :(
Should I nit wipe?
i tried this three times and it did not work. twice i wiped it and once i rinsed it and it still came right off. I did it exactly as instructed. Might be good as polish remover!
Didn't work for me, either.
Just tried it after sitting here with wet nails for about 10 minutes after I remembered I pinned this brilliant idea and put it to the test! It passed! This truly works! Had I known this YEARS ago, I could have saved lots of time not re-polishing my nails due to waking up with funky looking nails!! Try this out! You will be amazed! Happy polishing!! :)
haha your Pinning story could be mine!
I'm the same with pinning way too much
I just tried it with Sally Hanson clear polish used Crisco spray. Textbook perfect! And the cuticles are smoother. What a bonus.
i tried it and i messed up my nails when i wiped it off!!! i even let them dry a little before i used the pam!!!!
It's getting late but wanted to paint my nails before tomorrow. Of course worried about the infamous "sheet imprints" when I wake up in the morning thought I'd try the Pam trick. I did a clear base coat earlier today so I did 2 my OPI color coats. Waited a couple of minutes before spraying the Pam (butter flavor of course!). Waited a couple of minutes then GENTLY washed with hand soap and dabbed my hands on a towel but mostly air dried. Lightly ran my fingers over my nails just to see if it had the tacky wet nail feel and sho nuff didn't! IT WORKS! Will do the top coat in the morning.....
I just tried it and I guess it works. I waited about 5 minutes to be extra cautious. The thing is, I used Sally hansen's Insta Dry clear polish on my french manicure then sprayed Pam spray. I also washed my hands instead of wiping off.Don't know it this helps, but fast dry nail polish always works for me.
I was a total skeptic....until I tried it and IT WORKED!!! I still can't believe it! I did a base coat and two coats of polish (all OPI)...I did let each coat dry for a minute or two between and then let all dry for a few minutes. Sprayed Pam on and waited two minutes then ran under cold water for two minutes and then carefully dried my hands and voila....dry nails!!! So ecstatic about this!!,
