4th of July Weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend filled with family, fun and lots of sun!

We spent the weekend with Mr. B's parents at their lakehouse and we spent the actual 4th with my family.

We started off Saturday morning modeling our newly made festive bandana/collar....

And a little play/action session....

Took a break, had breakfast and got ready for a day on the boat
The door on the boat broke and Roxie that it was custom made just for her
Mr. B went jet skiing
Then took Roxie for a "swim" in her new life jacket

{this is Roxie begging him to pick her up and Mr. B's face of pain as her nails kept scratching his chest}
She calmed down a little bit....
Right before a full force doggie paddle

We let her relax a little bit and then took her out on another adventure
A kayak ride!
I think she enjoyed it, she seemed to pretty content just floating around.
They looked so cute and peaceful until prego momma decided to join in on the fun...
It didn't quite look the same.

Here I am yelling at Mr. B that we are sinking, that Roxie and I are sitting in the water.
He didn't believe me and I am partially thankful to have pictures to prove it, but also umm..
slightly embarrassed.

We were able to get a cute family shot after I realized this whole kayaking experiencing was nothing like what I had pictured in my head.

After a long day, filled with many new adventures Roxie cuddled up with Mr. B and his battle wounds.

{And next year I won't have to have a 4th of July post about my dog because we will have a little girl!! :) }

Monday was really relaxing, we lounged around in the pool for most of the day, Mr. B read his book on the hammock

And the girls wanted to have a little photo shoot..

{Olivia didn't know what to do with her hand, ha!}

Had to get a picture of the 3 amigos in their matching bandanas

And us girlies in with our matching headbands

Then we headed off to the fireworks

And Roxie wasn't phased one bit.

We love long weekends and time with family :)

And I think that's enough pictures to last me until next week...maybe next year.

19 Weeks

I was really torn on what to post about today: the 4th weekend, Baby update or a very serious {but not really} email I received about one of my favorite place with a giant mouse and awesome pizza.
Since I will be 20 weeks tomorrow I decided to go with the 19 week update and will hopefully post about the others tomorrow....

Gender: GIRL!!!

Total Weight Gained: I weighed myself at my in-laws' this past weekend in the morning and I weighed the same as my last appointment, but a couple days ago at my parents' in the afternoon and I had gained 1 pound from my pre-pregnancy weight. So I haven't officially been weighed at the Dr yet and I won't until early August and I am sure by then I will have gained some real weight! Thinking I might just invest in a scale...

Sleep: Still not going too well! But after a few bad nights, I usually have one good night! We finally have our new windows installed so that puts us one step closer to having AC!

Maternity Clothes: Still LOVE. Wear mostly non-maternity shirts and dresses, but love my shorts and capris.

Best Moment of the Week: We had our 20 week anatomy scan Tuesday evening- it's always so great to get a sneak peek into her world. See her healthy and moving all around!

{We had so many other cute ones that they ended up keeping :( There were like 50 print outs and we only got 4, I wish we could've kept which ones...oh well..}

Food Cravings: Lots and lots of aversions, but my appetite is slowly coming back. Still loving sweet and sour things though!  Loving Nerds this week!

Aversions: Pretty much everything, but two major major aversions:
 1. Steak  2. Wishbone Italian Dressing.     GAG!

Symptoms: This week has been kinder to me than 18 weeks, but I have still had more days than not of "morning" sickness.  The 4th of July morning was my worst- got sick 4 times in just 3 hours! Thankfully 4 was the lucky number for the day, I guess that was her way of celebrating :) The heart burn has subsided this week- thank you Jesus!

Movement: Yes! Hoping for some bigger movements though, but these flutters are wonderful!

What I miss: Not feeling sick in the car, being able to slowly wake up/relax in bed until I am ready to get up, a good night sleep. But who cares- it's all SO worth it!

What I'm looking forward to: Feeling some harder kicks and movement for others to feel!

Weekly Wisdom: Always carry a granola bar or little snack with you. You never know when that sudden wave of nausea will hit and you need to eat NOW. This has saved me many many times!

Milestones: Our baby girl is measuring exactly to the day, she is healthy, active and has all her organs! We also got to see her 10 little fingers and toes! So cute!

Please note all the ducks that made their way into the photo this week ;)
Mr. B chased them to that side, I guess this has become his trademark...

I was fixing my shirt in this picture, but it gives you a better idea of my growing belly and widening belly button- ha! I have a deep inny belly button and I feel like this is the first time I can actually see the bottom of it. I can't decide if I would rather have one that pops out or one that is just a giant stretched hole. Not that I have a choice anyways!

And right after that little photo sesh, I threw up for the 4th and final time! Let's hope 20 weeks will be better!

18 Weeks

I love these posts because they make this pregnancy go by so fast.
I'm sure it's not just these post, but it definitely helps!

Today I am actually 19 weeks, but here's my 18 week update:

Gender: GIRL!!!

Total Weight Gained: I don't have a scale, so I have been weighing myself at my parents' house and I keep weighing at night which I don't like to count because of course I'll weigh more! I prefer the morning....right after some sickness, a good pee and before breakfast :) Ya know?
So anyways....I think I am now the same weight as my pre-pregnancy weight. I have gained at least 2 pound since my 16 week appt, possibly 3.

Sleep: Is not going well!! First off, we don't have any AC yet {Next week!!} so it's like 82 degrees in here, second- I just can not get comfortable! I normally sleep on my stomach, which obviously I can't do anymore, I'm not supposed to sleep on my back and lately both sides have been really uncomfortable, too! Thirdly- the crazy heartburn....oh my goodness. ouch!
Question: Is the Snoogle worth investing in?? I use just a plain body pillow now, but lately it doesn't seem to be cutting it. Should I get something like that or is it basically the same thing?

Maternity Clothes: Still LOVE. Wear mostly non-maternity shirts and dresses, but love my shorts and capris. Bought some new non-maternity tank tops that have a design along the chest and no design below- realized this is key for me in this phase!

Best Moment of the Week: Feeling her move all around for real. A few times I wasn't sure if it was really her or not, but now I know when it is and I love it! I still don't think it's enough for Mr. B to feel, but that will come soon enough!

Food Cravings: Lots and lots of aversions, but my appetite is slowly coming back. Still loving sweet and sour things though! Pink Lemonade is what I'm loving this week. Not sure if Smelly Beans loves it too or hates it because she is always a wiggle worm after I drink it!

Aversions: Pretty much everything, but two major major aversions:
 1. Steak  2. Wishbone Italian Dressing.     GAG!

Symptoms: So I'm feeling like 18 week has definitely been the worst week so far in my 2nd trimester- what's up with that!? I was doing so good! But the morning sickness has returned, I got sick pretty much every day, sometimes twice a day this week. And now with this belly it makes getting sick a lot more uncomfortable/painful. Also, the heartburn. Oh, the heartburn. So uncomfortable and annoying. Pretty much anything I eat gives me heartburn now. Let's hope the myth is right and she will have a head full of hair...even though I think it's too early for that myth to be true, but hey it's makes me feel better :)

Movement: Yes! Hoping for some bigger movements though, but these flutters are wonderful!

What I miss: Not feeling sick in the car, being able to slowly wake up/relax in bed until I am ready to get up, a good night sleep. But who cares- it's all SO worth it!

What I'm looking forward to: Feeling some harder kicks and movement! Our 20 wk appt on Tuesday!

Weekly Wisdom: The second your eyes open in the morning, even if it's just to look at the clock and then you struggle to fall back asleep...eat something!! I never do, this has been going on since like 6 weeks and I regret it every.single.time! Because you will quickly find me hugging the toilet....not the most ideal start to the day!

Milestones: Little flutters & made it through the road trip- barely! And I think it really messed me up since I have been sick since- but I made it! And it was worth it! And this is all worth it! Also, the belly/babe had a growth spurt!

No ducks in the picture today since we were traveling, but it's still in front of some water!
{don't know why my pictures always look grainy, they aren't before they're posted and they aren't when you click on them...hmmm}

Happy 4th of July weekend!!!

Weekend Wedding

This weekend Mr. B and I took a little {felt like forever} road trip to Maryland for my old roomie's wedding.

I was so excited to be reunited with my friends, last time we were all together was about 2 years ago for our wedding! It's so awesome when you can not be together for so long, but then when you get together it's like it's been no time at all.  Love that!

This post will be lots of pictures {I hope, if blogger let's me this time!}.

The road trip started off with
a.  An 18 week growth spurt {just in time to fit into my already tight non-maternity dress}

&

b. The new traveling essentials. I was nervous for this drive since I usually feel sick, and sometimes get sick by just a 25 minute drive to church on Sundays- but I was prepared just in case!

When we hit NY, we were caught in a giant rain storm. It was raining so hard that pretty much everyone was just stopped on the highway because you couldn't see a thing. When it finally cleared up a little bit, we looked out the window and realized we were apparently in the middle of a flash flood.
This is on the highway!!
So needless to say, that slowed us down for a while and it was lots of stop and go, stop and go.
And....during this crazy adventure I needed to use the previously pictured yellow bowl.  Thankfully it was just fruit snacks, ha TMI- sorry.

A little over 8 hours later we finally arrived, got ready, went out for dinner and met up with the girls at the rehearsal.

And they were quick to love on our little girl :)

The next day was the big wedding day! The location of the ceremony was at a beautiful bed & breakfast overlooking the water and the weather was perfect. A little hot, but no rain and that's what we prayed for!

We killed some time and took some pictures before the ceremony began.
Yes, I am that short and they are that tall.

Like I wasn't feeling short and extra round before, put me in pictures next to my tall gorgeous friends! I wanted so badly to be pregnant, so of course this is all so so worth it. It just took some extra strength to stay positive :)

I requested a picture of them at my level so I wouldn't look so short. Apparently that was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

It was finally wedding time, Jules looked amazing!
The newlyweds!!!

Almost two years ago that was us and now we are expecting and it's quite possible we are even more excited than we were on our wedding day! It's a close call ;)

Having fun at the reception!

It's a tradition to get a picture like this with my gorgeous "giant" friends...
Sad and hilarious all at the same time, I know!

Mr. B even danced with me! This was a successful night! He was thrilled because I am usually out on the dance floor all night, but with the super tight dress, uncomfortable shoes and the new inability to "get low", I spent a lot of time sitting at the table with him watching people dance!
It was a great trip! Weddings are so beautiful and such a joyful time of celebration!
I was very relieved to get out of that dress and back into some sweats
and get the 8 hour car ride over with though!

Congrats Jules & Ted!!! We are so happy for you guys and were blessed to be a part of your special day!

17 Weeks

Finding the time/energy to do these weekly updates makes time fly by!  But that's a good thing! So here is my 17 week update even though I'm almost 18 weeks!

Total Weight Gained: Down 1 pound. So gained a pound since my 16 week appointment, but still under my starting weight.

Sleep: Is good! The plain ol' original body pillow has become my best friend and will be making it's way to the hotel we are staying at this weekend for a wedding!

Maternity Clothes: Still LOVE. Wear mostly non-maternity shirts and dresses, but love my shorts and capris. I bought some clothes a couple weeks ago that thankfully still have the tags on because they fit me so differently and uglierly {new word} now and those baby are getting returned today.  Which btw, I love returning things because it's like "free money" since it's already spent you know, so I am excited to exchange everything for a few new cuter shirts to accommodate my growing belly.

Best Moment of the Week: Find out the Gender!!!!! We are having a baby GIRL. I really really really wanted a girl first, of course I would have been thrilled with a happy baby boy too but I just love all the bows and dresses and all things girly. We already had a girl name and could.not agree on a boy name so we were ecstatic to see the ultrasound!

Food Cravings: Lots and lots of aversions, but my appetite is slowly coming back. This week I am loving fresh squeezed lemonade made my Mr. B- it's the most sour, shocking drink ever but totally hits the spot! Just like granny smith apple- this is so not like me! I never drink lemonade or like sour things!

Aversions: Pretty much everything, but two major major aversions:
 1. Steak  2. Wishbone Italian Dressing.     GAG!

Symptoms: Still having morning sickness but thankfully it's now only about 2 days a week instead of 2+ times every day like it was, still feel car sick {nervous for out 8 hour drive tomorrow!},  occasional heartburn, hairy belly lol, and my newest symptoms is starving every two hours! This could be dangerous- but I am trying to keep the snacking healthy.

Movement: I don't think so.  Maybe some flutters, but no real movement or anything that I know for sure. I am anxiously awaiting though!

Gender: GIRL!!!

What I miss: Not feeling sick in the car, being able to slowly wake up/relax in bed until I am ready to get up, eat deli from restaurants like Panera. But who cares- it's all SO worth it!

What I'm looking forward to: Feeling some kicks and movement!

Weekly Wisdom: Find some good deals on craigslist- don't waste all your money at the stores {just some because that is fun, too :) } I just got a huge trash bag of brand name winter girl clothes for $50. I am so pumped! It was an awesome deal!

Milestones: Found out the gender & we started the registry!

I know I used this picture a couple days ago, but it's my "official" weekly shot. And please note we now have 3 ducks in the background, hoping for 4 next week ;)

{Never mind, it's not letting me upload any pictures...}
