Waiting Game Continues....

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I had a wonderful day! :)

Today was my 39 Week check up, the one that I was so anxious for, that I lost sleep over because this appointment would determine if she was breech, transverse or head down.
If I would have her tomorrow or at Target.

It was also my first pelvic exam {I thought I was going to have one last week and I didn't} so I was extra nervous.

So glad it's over with! For now... I know the worst is yet to come. It wasn't quite as bad as I thought, but I was pretty animated. And for as nervous and tight as I was she managed to make her way up there and feel around, so that's a good thing I guess....

Anyways the results are in and Adalyn is....

Head down.

I know this is suppose to be good news.

And it is, I was just hoping she would be here tomorrow.

I'm really ready.

And tired of throwing up.

And the heartburn.

But if she was head down I at least wanted there to be some progress and thankfully there was!

So I am 1.5 cm dilated and 70% effaced.

Still not convinced this really means anything, but at least it's something!

So now I try everything in "my power" to get her here before Thanksgiving!

I'm about to go out and buy a birthing ball and walk til the sun don't shine no mo'.

Any other ways work for you?

Did you go from 1 cm to labor quickly?

Do you think it means anything??

I forgot to ask my Dr. about the membrane sweep...did that work for anyone??

I was not dialated at my 39 week appointment and went into labor a few days later; the day before her due date, she was born at 2:36 am on her exact due date. So you can go from nothing to labor very quickly. I really just used a birthing ball because it helped to relax my hips and back. Good Luck she will come when she is ready and you will do great!!

Glad you have made some progress.
It's so hard to tell. I was 3 cm 80% effaced for almost 3 weeks and went into labor on my due date. So who knows. but I think the fact that you are dilating and effacing is a great sign! I know some people who weren't at all and went into labor the next day! Just be careful about walking a lot-esp. if you are still having pelvic pain. I had to chase ellie around the dog park and walked a long time and my pelvis felt like it was broken for a few days-as much as I wanted her to come, I was actually praying then that she wouldn't because I don't know how I would have pushed her out!!
I have heard that there is some pressure point in the feet/ankle area that really works so have your hubby massage your feet :) I have no idea if this had anything to do with it but I went into labor about an hour after I sat in a super hot bath for a LONG time. Not sure if it was related but that's when I went!
Everyone I know who has had their membranes swept has gone into labor that day or the next! You should def. ask your dr. about it.
I hope she gets here soon! I was just saying to Tony last night that it's funny to think back to the days before she was born and how anxious we were for her to get here and now she's almost 2 months old and we feel like we've been parents forever. I know it's probably not what you want to hear but she WILL come out and you are in the homestretch (I felt like Callyn was going to stay in forever-esp. after 2 bouts of false labor!) and pretty soon you will wonder how you ever lived without her! Praying for you in these last few days/hours?!

I had the membrane stripping and I went into labor the next morning! So it worked for me. I was also 90% effaced and dilated to 2 so I was on my way. It does hurt like something fierce though! But I wasn't going one more day being pregnant. He was going to induce me the night I went into labor because I was DONE being pregnant! But I had a VERY rough pregnancy. I was 4 days early. And only in labor for 12 1/2 hours. But ended with a c-section because of complications with him. So you should definitely try it if you want too. But don't rush it to much she will come when she is ready too come out! :)

You could progress quickly just from the pelvic exam today. I was 2 cm and 75% at my first exam and went into labor 3 days later. I also walked non-stop and got a pedicure the day before my labor started.

I can't lend any help in this area as my girls were born at 32w2d, and I could never have delivered triplets vaginally, but hoping Little Miss A comes exactly when the time is right! However, I packed for the hospital EVERY SINGLE APPT I had, each week with my girls from week 25 on, thinking I would be sent to hospital bed rest and the ONE time I wasn't prepared, 4 days before Christmas, I was sent to the hospital! So maybe not being prepared every instant is the trick! Who knows! LOL!

I hope she comes before Thanksgiving so you can share her with all your family! How sweet! Good luck girl and just stay positive!

Okay, I tried eating pineapple, salsa, loving on hubby, walking, jumping jacks, squats, and pumped both boobs for 20 minutes all in one night. I was already 3 centimeters with Mckinlee, and I was 80% and I had been feeling contractions all day, nothing consistent. The doctor was for sure she would come within the next few days. Anyways, one of those worked because I went into labor at midnight that same night.

Pumping is suppose to be an almost 100% sure way I think.

I was like not even 1cm at my 40 weeks appointment, asked to have my membranes swept and the doctor said I was not ready. (I'm not real sure if he actually did or not, but it sure didn't feel good!!) I had my babe 2 days later on my due date. I walked 5 miles the day before and took some caster oil. By the way, I would NOT take the caster oil. I took it at 7pm, thought I was sick, fell asleep at 9pm, woke up at 12 with FULL ON contractions. 2 min apart from the time they started. So, it worked for me, but like I said I wouldn't suggest it.

You better get use to people messing around down there. Once you're in the hospital everyone will get a good feel!

My Dr. stripped my membranes and my water broke 23 hours later at 39 weeks!

Good luck, hopefully you have a baby in your arms soon!
