Weekend Rewind

I love long weekends.
How awesome would it be if they were always 3 days.
Well, I'm sure then we'd wish for 4, but we can still dream about how amazing 3 days weekends would be….

Unfortunately we've been hit with a never ending cold.
Seriously, there's no light at the end of the tunnel.
Maybe a crevice of light.
Maybe.
So we had a low key weekend filled with medicine and tissues,
but we were together and we were lazy and it was just what we needed.
And still need, because we're still sick…

So this weekend wasn't a very exciting one, but if I want to get back onto the blogging train I need to post about the every day weekends too!

Friday my sweet girl blessed this sick mama with sleeping in until a little past 10 and we followed that up with some snuggles in my bed.

We stayed in our PJs, I had a fever and was pretty much glued to the couch all day.

During this time I realized we haven't been trying for Baby #2 as long as I had thought.
In my head I had March, but that was because of when the due date would've been.
So thanks to an old blog post, a friend and Mr. B, it was brought to my attention that it will be 9 months, not 11.
Which doesn't make quite as bad as I thought.
Which is sad, because it's still pretty bad, but it came with a little relief too.
So that was good.

The not so good…she was sick and oversensitive.
Mix that with typical 2 year old mood swings and you get something like this because your baby won't sit.
Cue nap time and hallelujah chorus.

After nap we enjoyed more snuggles and sent Mr. B this pic
as a warning that the house looks like a tornado went through it and a request to bring home dinner.

Saturday was a surprise snow day and perfect for us to stay in a clean pair of {mismatched} PJs.
We relaxed, watched tv, played, napped and made some cookies.
She took a tubby and changed into new {matching} Super Girl PJs from her Auntie, that she loves!

Sunday we skipped church to avoid being those people.
The kind the discretely sniff, snort, blow and gross everyone out.
So instead we slept in and I had my super smoothie helper and strawberry stealer to assist with breakfast.
Then we …put on real clothes and brought our sniffs and germs to the great-grandparents' house.
We went out for a late lunch for Mimi's birthday.
{For the record, I don't suggest bringing an oversensitive, overtired, toddler with a cold to a restaurant during nap time. }
Then we went to the farm and hoped the Pats would make it to the Super Bowl.
And our hopes were crushed.
She took a late nap from 4-7, we had dinner, played and watched the first half of the next game before heading home.

We gave her the last of her 5 day antibiotic
and then cried because it didn't work.
It still could've prevented her ear infection, but it definitely didn't fight off anything else she has going on.
Which means it's viral.
Which means more days staying home.
More missed swim classes.
More missed play dates.
More missed My Gym classes.
Bottom line…. SOS.
But, in saying all of that, I'm always grateful {can't you tell ;) } that at the end of the day it is just a never-ending cold and nothing more.

Monday we woke up and headed back to the farm for a little sled time.

And by little, I mean little.

She probably lasted all of 5 minutes.
I think it's time to ditch the baby sled and show her the real deal.

After that, she napped, I worked on some pictures and Mr. B went and played some racquet ball.
We hung around the farm for some chinese food
{a perk to being at the farm- free good dinners!},
came home, tubbied and took her final 24 month picture.
A day before she turned 26 months.
And she's tired, and it's not really her smile and it was with a flash.
But it's done.
I won't even go into the frustrations I have with myself for not getting it together for her last monthly pic.
But in the end she's still 2 so...it counts.

Then we went to bed and prayed for a miraculous healing and healthy week!

Thursdays Thoughts

Yesterday we celebrated 4 years of marriage!!
It feels much longer- in a good way!

We ordered take out from one of our favorite pizza places and snuggled with our favorite girl.
I love living life with these two and I wouldn't want to spend our night any differently.

Okay, that a little bit of a lie.
But I do love living life with them!

I'm not pregnant. Again.
Happy Anniversary
On to take 3.....

Adalyn recently turned 20 months!!!
You better believe the party planning has started and I may or may not have already made some purchases.

Adalyn is officially potty trained, with the exception of night time.
I will write a more detailed post soon, but she was ready and made it easy!

It's ridiculous how fast summer goes by. We only have a couple more times to enjoy the lake.
I'm thankful for seasons, I feel like they come at the perfect time.
With the exception of winter.
That's last wayyyy too long.

We love Puddle Jumpers.
Best floaties. ever. ever.

I don't feel like cooking, but there's chicken in the fridge that will go bad if I don't.
Lame.

We had fun blueberry picking this morning.
I enjoyed it so much more than strawberry picking.
Like, tons more.

It was a little cool out and the perfect reminder of what's to come.
But not yet.

I never update my phone and the other day I finally did.
And of course, now one of my lifeline favorite apps isn't working.
If it ain't broke....

And now, Instagram is stuck on waiting.
I've seriously tried every.thing. to fix it.
Next up is to restore my phone to factory settings.

In the meantime I feel like my life is stuck on waiting.
I feel lost.
I feel like everyone else is probably lost, too.
No one knows where we are, what we are eating, what Adalyn is wearing...
Not sure how they're surviving, because I'm struggling.
More than I should be....

I love that my parents have farm animals- feeding the goats with Mimi is something she looks forward to.

I'm in love with her and this picture

the end.

Weekend Rewind

Friday
I found this toy on craigslist for $5 and she loved it!
Later that evening Auntie A & J came over so Mr. B and I could go out for dinner for an early anniversary celebration!
We put her to bed and enjoyed a delicious dinner!
And we managed to not talk about Adalyn the whole time.
We had a wonderful night out!
I love my hubby.

Saturday
Somebody turned EIGHT months!!
And looks like such a big girl!

We enjoyed another beautiful day on the lake.
We had fun being anchored at the sand bar and enjoyed time with new friends and family!

And we also got the sweetest text from Uncle CJ
Love that little man.

Sunday
We went to church, out for lunch with some friends and spent some time at the farm.

Enjoyed some applesauce

Her new favorite face to make..

Then Mr. B went to see Batman.
{my heart breaks for the victims and their families. I can not even imagine. I am praying for peace and healing to all of those involved.}
Adalyn and I stayed home, had an early tubby and bedtime {Love Sunday nights!} and I edited some pictures from the day of her in her cute little romper.

Love summer weekends and I am sad that they are quickly coming to an end!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday
I was packing up our bags for the lake, I peeked around the corner to check on Adalyn to find her climbing the stairs! Of course, I had to take a few pictures of her climbing them before telling her no.
She was so nonchalant about this.
Stairs? Pshh, what stairs??
We celebrated a belated end of the school year lunch with Uncle CJ. I can't believe in a month he will be starting Junior High!!

After lunch, Mr. B got home early and we headed up to the lake.
We took a little boat ride before dinner.
Papa had a work call while we were out so we killed some time in a fun bookstore with Nana.
Nana took care of the bedtime bottle and stories.
Adalyn loves books.

Saturday
It was a beautiful morning and we headed to the boat after breakfast

This picture is actually more typical of what she looks like in her life vest. She's not really a fan and I can't say I blame her!

Roxie on the other hand...
This is pretty much her heaven on earth.

Later that afternoon we met up with my family to have a little celebration for my aunt and uncle's 50th.
We went out for dinner and headed back to our family campground for gifts and dessert.
This was Adalyn's first time at camp!

We finished the night with the usual tubby and some crazy post-pony hair!

Sunday
We went to church, then out for lunch with my family and grandparents.
Adalyn loved watching the fan above our table.
And I love that picture of her and her Great-Grandpa.

We've been in a heat wave the past few days so we've been keeping busy in the water.
After lunch we spent the day at the farm and went swimming.
I love this picture of my dad and Adalyn.
It makes my heart happy every time I look at it.
She had a lot of fun swimming with Papa G!
Sweet memories will be made in that pool.

We love our busy weekends with family.
And we love the good sleep that follows.

Weekend Rewind

I love.love.love long weekends with beautiful weather and time with family.
It doesn't get much better than that!

Saturday we went up to the lake to spend the day on the boat with Mr. B's dad.
His mom will be here for the summer in just a couple weeks!
She was sad she wasn't able to make it, but we certainly missed her and look forward to her arrival!
The weather was perfect!
Adalyn got adjusted to her life jacket- although it wasn't the most comfy thing!
We had lunch, visited, napped, cruised and enjoyed the beautiful weather on the boat!
We are looking forward to doing this a lot more this summer!

Sunday we went to church and I finally faced the fact that I have a big girl and her time has come to move on to the nursery. She used to sleep on me through the sermon, then she become too loud and squirmy so we've been in the Mother's Room where she usually falls asleep on me on the rocking chair for a little. But the past two weeks she's done nothing, but smile, squawk and play. Which is fine, but not worth me missing there sermon for when I know she would love watching and playing with all the other kids. It's just another step...{wahhh}
After church we went out for lunch with the family, then to the farm to play in the pool and enjoy some more beautiful weather.
We finished up the night with a memorial game of wiffle ball!

Excited for our bonus day with the family, we enjoyed delicious food and more beautiful weather on Memorial Day!
Complete with more outside time, climbing, swimming, sleeping and smiling.

Oh yeah and we can't forget this cuteness that was spotted today....

And a special thanks to everyone who has or is currently serving for our freedom!
And to the families who love, support and also sacrifice so much.
We truly are proud to be Americans.
And so thankful for the freedom we have.
