Cheese Pizza Hold the Bug

Mr. B and I are opposite in many ways.
One of these areas being food.
Specifically fast food and cheap restaurants.
Judge if you will- I like fast food and cheap restaurants.
This has resulted in many petty arguments in our ever so blissful marriage.
I think a lot of it has to do with our two different families.
I grew up in a busy household of 10 where it was easier and cheaper to go through the drive thru. With everyone's different schedules, it just worked out the best for us and as a bonus - no dishes.
Somehow we never managed to be obese. What a blessing.
Mr. B's grew up in a household of 4 and his mom enjoyed cooking or they could easily afford a nice meal out. They were less than 1/2 the size of my family!

So fast forward and bring us to our wonderful-we-come-from-two-different-lifestyles-let's-mesh-our-lives-and-see-how-it-works-because-love-is-greater-than-food-newlywed life.
A few days ago I was complaining kindly pointing out that I make many things for dinner that I don't necessarily like, but I eat them for Mr. B because he likes them. Anytime I suggest something I want I get a look of disgust/please don't bring out your WT {white trash} side and a "no way-gross-never".
Well apparently my point was valid.

Mr. B surprised me yesterday and came home during his lunch break and took me to Pizza Hut lunch buffet.
I enjoy the salad, the breadsticks, the pan pizza and the creamy italian dressing.
Again, something I grew up with and find quite tasty-thank you very much.

I was so happy.
I was enjoying my food and soaking in the pure kindness of my wonderful husband realizing that this is most likely one of those romantic things that, in his eyes, are good for about a month or so- thinking he is set until at least the end of May. Ha, crazy boys....

Mr. B was actually kind of enjoying his pizza as I felt the need to defend my dear friend, Pizza Hut, after every bite he took. I may take it a bit personal.

As he was eating his 5th piece of pizza, he somehow noticed something little and black stuck to the bottom.
How or why he was even looking at the back of the pizza, I have no idea.
Looking for something wrong, I am sure.

Well...that little blackness wasn't a burnt piece.
It wasn't pepper.
It wasn't an olive.
It was....
a bug.
Well, babe, you should've told them to hold the bug- you don't need the extra protein.
Except this was a buffet and he didn't order it so that wasn't going to work.
There was nothing I could say to justify this situation.

Thank you, Pizza Hut.
After all I did, all the defending, the complaining, the pleading, this is how I am paid in return.
If this isn't an "I told you so" moment, I don't know what is.

I am so mad I forgot to take a picture, but it was definitely there.
A mosquito/black fly creature. Squished to the bottom of his pizza.
I am not sure what is more disgusting, the fact that there was a dead bug on his pizza or the fact that we continued eating the rest of our food.
The plus side: His meal was then free, I enjoyed my meal and the fact that he took me there.
The negative: I am pretty positive we will not be going there in the near future ever again.

I am thankful we are moving home soon and I can count on lunch dates with Mama Grace- a fellow Pizza Hut lover.
Until then, I will keep my mouth closed about the places I want to eat and allow this romantic gesture to be valid until, at most, the end of April. Compromise?

Is your taste classy like mine or are you more like Mr. B?

Wordless Wednesday

One of the many reasons why I love my littlest brother....
Ry(19) has a nickname of "White Chocolate" and C-Man's (10) became "Chocolate Chip"
this is a clip of their brother dance off at our wedding.
C-man has one of the funniest personalities- love that little guy to pieces.
This video makes me laugh every time.

Clearly,
if you remember my father/daughter dance,
amazing dance moves run in the family.
It's a gift.

Hope you got a little laugh for your day!
Happy Wednesday!!!

Top 2 Tuesday: Beauty Secrets

Is it already Tuesday?! Time is flying!
Today's Top 2 at the undomestic momma is Beauty Secrets.

This is a tough one for me, I really don't have any.
I don't wear much make-up and the make-up I do wear is cheap faux bare minerals {love the real stuff, but it doesn't fit in my budget right now}.
I don't wash my face so I don't have any special face wash or secret for that.
I have a cheap straightener so there is no one asking about my hair secrets. I love when I am visiting my family and can use my mom's Chi- that is by far the most amazing straightener.

My favorite look is in the summer time when no make-up is needed but chapstick. Freedom.
I could probably have that look now if I didn't waste my day away blogging and watching TV. I am determined to lay out today though.

Which brings me to my number 1 beauty "secret":

Baby Oil/Body Oil/Gel
I usually just have the generic cheap baby oil, but we had company one weekend and they had this cocoa butter Vaseline one and couldn't take it back on the plain so they left it for me. Love this stuff.

I use it right after the shower {on days that I shave my legs- no need to admit how often (or not so often) that is, use your imagination} to moisturize my legs, arms and everything in between. It works wonders and also adds the perfect shine.
This is also ideal if you are looking to fry in the sun. Literally.

2. I have pretty sensitive skin so I am a big fan of baby products. Baby lotion is my best friend, if I don't use the oil I will use this. I use it on my face everyday. Apparently it has caught on because now Johnson and Johnson has a body care line and it gets the job done just the same.

Does anybody have tips on making make-up last all day?? I feel like my make-up disappears just a few hours later. So annoying. Yes, I mentioned I use the cheap make-up so it is very likely this has something to do with it.

Please tell me your beauty secrets!

PS. I knew Adam Sandler grew up in NH close to where I lived, but this morning on Regis and Kelly I just found out Seth Meyers is from Bedford, NH. That is the town right next to my hometown. Umm cool.

Not So Little Brother

My "little" brother turned 20 yesterday.

I am so thankful for...
Our memories and friendship when we were young,
our sometimes clashing personalities,

our ability to read each others mind and keep each other company
during awkward family gatherings,

the memory of our one and only big fight {a result of me not wanting him to watch a Walk to Remember with me and my girl cousins- this was about 7 years ago & to this day he still holds a grudge},

his leadership qualities,

his witty personality,
his self-confidence,

his "amazing" dance skills,

his fearlessness,

his willingness to help me when needed,

his friendship with Mr. B,

his desire to be a great big brother to our little brother,

watching him transform and grow into a solid man of God his first year of college.

I am so proud to be his big sister.

Happy Birthday, Ry!
Love you and miss you!

** A taste of his personality {he is 100% straight, although I am aware this video may make me you think otherwise}. He made this for our little brother's birthday in January**

Puppy Tips

We're Having a Puppy!!
Super creative title for a book huh?

First there was nesting and now it's time to highlight in
What to Expect When You're Expecting...

Puppy edition of course-no there's really no such thing , that I know of anyway, but these books are close enough. We are doing our research for the next 20 days so Roxie will be the best trained puppy in the world our house {don't want to set my expectations too high, but anything beyond our house would be a bonus}. We stalked up with a bunch of stuff from the library, we got our Dog Whisperer DVDs for the drive to and from Naples and plenty of books to keep me busy.

This is a totally new experience for us and we want to be as prepared as possible.
Some of you have already given me some helpful tips and they are so appreciated!
Today I dedicate this post to puppy/dog tips...

Any training techniques?

Did you find puppy school beneficial?

Did you crate train?

Best toys?

Best leash?

Has anyone used the Easy Walk harness?

Does your dog ring a bell to go outside?

What did you use when they chewed everything to teach them not to?

Best food?

Anything!

Any do's and don'ts would be helpful!

Thanks & Enjoy our weekend!!

Free-Write Friday

Sometimes I think coming up with a title is the hardest part of a post. No lie. Is that pathetic? I must type and untype at least 5 times until a come up whatever one I think it best, although I know they are all cheesy. There's a lot of pressure on picking the right title. It needs to be short, but a little informative. It needs to be eye catching and suspenseful making the reader want to continue reading the post. I like it to sometime coordinate with the letter of whatever day it is{Mighty Monday Whatever Wednesday}. It needs to relate to your topic, but you don't always want to give it away....
or maybe I just overanalyze too much.

Today's post is themeless.

Completely random.

Free to write whatever I want.

I know I am free to write what I want everyday, but just roll with me. please.

I like to participate in the themed post, but then I miss out on informing you on the extremely important things like.....

Today is my ONE MONTH anniversary of being a housewife. It has been ah-mazing. I love it so much. I keep feeling like I need to go back to work soon, like my vacation is over and...it's not! It would be a lot more enjoyable if I had a car and money though, but for now, I waste my days away on the computer and watching tv with an occasional basking in the sun by the pool and that is fine with me. It's amazing how fast the days go by though. Somehow they went by soooo slow at work and now before I know it, hours have gone by just by sitting on the couch reading blogs and checking craigslist. I feel ashamed when Mr. B surprises me and comes home early and I am still in my PJs with nothing accomplished. I like when he comes home at 6, and at 5 I shower, get ready, clean and make dinner, giving the appearance of a productive day.

We move in 23 days!!!

We should be getting a new picture of Roxie soon! I am really hoping in the next picture her nose will be filled in a little more. Right now her nose is pinkish with black speckles. I have read that as she gets older it fills in and I hope she is no exception. She is still a cutie and we can't wait to pick her up.

30 Day Shred has been going good. Level 3 is my favorite- who would've thought?! I actually think it's easier, but still pushing me to my limit. I have definitely noticed a difference, my rolls are minimizing (thank you Jesus- that was super uncomfortable) and my arm muscles are getting big. Personally, not a huge fan of the muscular arms, but it's better than jiggly hello-goodbye arms. I would just prefer the toning to be in my abs, but this will do for now.

I tweeted Ashton Kutcher today.

I am stuck at home all day. Why not? I asked him if a new season of "True Beauty" is coming soon. I will admit I felt a little junior highish, but makes me that much cooler if he tweets me back right? Wrong? I won't admit that I keep checking my twitter every 10 minutes.

Does any one watch Jessica Simpson's Price of Beauty?? I am really lovin' this show. First off, I think she is really funny and her and I could totally be friends. Not sure if I should admit that either or what that says about me, but it's true- I have plenty of blonde moments that would allow us to have that special connect. I also love the whole premise of this show. It is so interesting to see how every country as their own view of beauty and at what lengths they will go to achieve this beauty.

This scene from the episode in Thailand was so funny. You know those moments when it's silent and not the right moment to laugh, and you do nothing but laugh. The kind of laugh where you try to keep it in and shoot little boogs everywhere. My friend, Liz, and I were notorious for this and I'm pretty sure everyone hated us for it...it's so contagious and once you start you can not stop. Anyways, if you don't watch this show- check it out!
The girl on 16 & Pregnant this week had twins. Jealous. I want to have twins so bad. My odds are very slim, but I am still hoping. One baby was kicking her bladder, they were out in public looking at new cars and she totally peed her pants. It was hilarious.

Does anyone watch Life Unexpected?? I just started getting into that show (thanks to Mama Grace) and I'm really liking it.

Pioneer Woman is on the The View today. I'm expecting to follow in her footsteps. Ha. I think I am a little off track.

Mr. B and I are going to Naples for the weekend to visit my grandparents.

Mr. B proposed to me there almost two years ago (April 19), we are eating at that restaurant tonight. We have come so far since then-ahh life is gooooooood.

I'll leave you with an example of Successful Marriage 101- The importance of when to play your cards and how to play them right:

{Last night we had already eaten dinner and we were out doing some errands. Mr. B was hungry again and wanted to buy a sub. Sidenote: we are on a tight budget until May}

Me: That sub is too much money, you should get something else instead.

Mr. B: Ugh, but this sub looks so good.

{leaving the line on the search for something cheaper}

Me: Ok fine, you can get the sub if you let me buy a sundress tomorrow.

Mr. B: Ok, deal.

Me {walk away with a big smile}

Compromise. Perfection. Extra tight budget.

Happy Meal

Meet the newest members of the Grace Family....
Seriously, could they not come up with a better
container to take the chicks home??
Must it look like a happy meal from McD's?
3 piece chicken, please! With a dot of poop..
Ew.

Aside from all their poop, they are so soft and cute.

Squeaky toys that move.

Apparently when you are getting your picture taken with a chick you need to scrunch up your shoulders and stick your neck out.
I realize this is a bad picture, but please note the chick in my hand and the chick in Mr.B's hand. Do you see his chick's head?
No? Well that's because you can't.
This chick was a bit on the limp side, if you will.

After returning home from Bible Study, we noticed there was one that:
a) had no eyes
b) was laying flat getting trampled on by the others

Mama Grace was too grossed out to pick up a dying chick, so of course, who else is more perfect to volunteer than me. Because if you know me, you know that I am NOT a huge animal lover and I would totally be able to handle a limp chick no problem.

My inner "Fly Away Home" {use to be one of my favorite movies when I was younger. A story of the girl who finds geese eggs and raises them- anyone else know that movie??} took over and I was certain she just needed a little love and comfort. I was determined to bring her back to life.

This whole idea worked out much better in my head where I actually held her for more
than .01 seconds.

I didn't expect her to be quite so limp and flimsy. She was a little too dead-like for me.
I fr.eak.ed.
GET IT OFF!!!! TAKE IT AWAY!!!
This fuzzy cute little chick quickly became a flat pancake {maybe more like a waffle, she wasn't that flat} of nasty.
So gross.

My hero, Mr. B, took her away from me. He held her cupped in his hands and for some reason she didn't look as dead as she did when I was holding her with my hands as flat and straight as I could get them. Weird.

He claims he still felt the heartbeat.
We held them for a few more minutes
and put them back in their coop.
The new one I was holding quickly ran away to play with the others.
The one Mr. B was holding quickly did nothing, but lay there lifeless, all stretched out and twisted.
She was dead.
At least, we kinda tried.

The next scene went something like this....
Mr. B who was holding the dead chick: {opens twizzler and begins eating it}

Everyone else who held a chick: {washing hands}

Me: {to Mr. B} Did you already wash your hands?

Mr. B: {deer in headlight look. quickly spits out twizzler} I was wondering why everyone was washing their hands! I totally forgot! That's so nasty. {tries to wash out mouth}

Everyone else: {grossed out and laughing hysterically}

I think you had to be there to know how funny it was, but for now just laugh and pretend you think it is too. Ok, thanks.

Anyways, has anyone ever owned any chickens??
We hear they actually like to cuddle and be pet?? The only thing is they aren't even close to being as cute as adults as they are as chicks, so we will see how that goes. They aren't mine so I will leave the cuddle-with-big-ugly-chickens department up to my family. They also eat ticks and spiders in the yard, which is a huge plus because there's lot this time of year.

Has anyone ever had their eggs? We hear they are much better. I hate eggs, but everyone else in the fam loves them.

Does anyone think the Grace Family is crazy?? ;)
