SUV/Crossover Advice

Hopefully in the next month or so we will be trading in my car for a little SUV.

Something with AWD to help keep us and the baby safe through the crazy winters.

Something along the lines of a CR-V, Rav4, Sorento, Sportage, Sante Fe etc.

Wondering if you have one??

Which one?

Love it? Hate it?

Does it have enough room?

Have you had problems?

Spill it all.

Please.

And thank you!

I will say we test drove the CR-V... felt small :/ The Sante Fe felt 'cheap' even the brand new ones. I would look at the Rav4. We got the Ford Edge which is a nice size!

Love having an SUV.
I had a Ford Escape before I got my Ford Edge and I love both of them!
I do miss my Escape though! It was a great little SUV!!!
We are actually now looking at downgrading to a Kia Soul (you can get with THIS or you can get with THAT!) ahaha- that song always pops up in my head when I hear it.

PS the AC (not that you'd need it where you live) in the Ford Edge does NOT blow hard. In Texas I need that bad boy to nearly blow me out of the seat, and it feels like it's on Low when it's on High. Just FYI.

Good Luck!

A friend of mine is having a baby at the end of this month (hopefully not the beginning of next haha!). She and her hubs bought a CRV. They love it. She calls it her soon-to-be mommy mobile. A few of my other friends have CRVs and have never complained once about it. Sorta wish I went with the CRV when I bought my new car. Good luck in your searches!

I think the Santa Fe's are cute, but that's the extent of my knowledge on that one! I drive an Xterra & I looove it, but I know that they are notorious for having their ACs break when they're about 2 years old, and the back seat is about 6" higher than the front, so it's not too too infant carseat friendly. Good luck!

We have a Rav4 and it is a great SUV! No problems so far and it is a 2006. Really roomy too!

But I also have to say that I love the Honda Pilot!

We just traded my Ford Fusion for an SUV! We went with the Nissan Pathfinder because I want third row seating.
My one piece of advice is rear air/heat. My car didn't have it and Kaidence was either burning up or freezing in my old car.

Good luck with finding a new ride! :)

Not sure if it is a CR-V but we have a GMC Acadia and I absolutely loove it! It is the crossover and has third roww seating and is very spacey! the second row reclines and can move forward or backward for extra or less space! Our is the SLT so it has the extra features. But it drives smooth, isnt hard to park, and isn't as bad on gas as we had expected! We love it! hope this helps!

We bought a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox last year when I was 22 weeks prego and we LOVE it! The back seats are adjustable if you need more room in the cargo area or in the back seat. It's very safe and great on gas. Our car seats have fit wonderfully in the back and it's big enough for 2. :)

I have a Subaru Forester and I love it. It is extremely safe in the winter. I got in a terrible car accident 2 winters ago and totaled my brand new car. I went on the search for the safest car I could find in the snow, that was affordable, and that's what I ended up with. I really feel so good in the winter driving it and that says a lot, since I have an intense fear of winter driving since the accident.

I bought a Chevy Equinox last year and its great! I got the AWD one for the winter and it is very nice to have in the snowy MN winters. The backseat is really big and lots of space in the trunk. I think I get around 300 to 330 miles per gallon.

Not too sure about your budget but all the females in my family drive SUVs. My sister has a CRV. She loves it. However, she did feel that it was a little boxy and too big for her (which is funny because I think someone else mentioned it feeling small)...but my sister had a maixma before the CRV so she was use to a small car. My mom had the Lexus RX...and honestly...best car out there. Nothing ever went wrong with it...however, it comes with a pretty hefty price tag. I drive a Nissan Rogue and LOVE IT. I've had it for about a year and no complaints so far...these also have a lot of the upgrades I was looking for (leather seats, navigation, power everything, sound system etc). I also looked at the Nissan Murano, which is almost the exact same, but a tad bigger...as well as the Ford Edge. Loved the Ford Edge as well, but it was a little too big for me (and with living in the city and parallel parking...I needed a more compact SUV. But with Ford and Nissan I feel like they are both very reliable brands...but that is just my opinion. I did see that someone mentioned Subaru Forester and my sister actually was looking at that at one point as well. Very reliable and safe cars!
